Our Analytical Strategy and Operations team creates transformative medicines of tomorrow based on the cutting-edge science of today. Working within Global Product Development and Supply this team uses state-of-the art technologies to develop, enable and execute analytical and CMC strategies that ensure safety, quality and efficacy of life-saving medicines administered to patients in clinical studies. Our team is involved at the earliest stages of Pharmaceutical and Biopharmaceutical product development through the successful commercial launch. Position Summary:
The Senior Principal Scientist will be an CMC analytical lead (CMC-AL) for drug candidates across all stages of development and, as needed, within our commercial product portfolio. They will serve as a member of a cross functional CMC team responsible for analytical related CMC strategy development. Collaborating with various functional areas, they will identify drug substance and drug product critical quality attributes and establish controls and testing to deliver quality products.
They will drive analytical controls adhering to ICH guidelines and Health Authority requirements. The Senior Principal Scientist will have a direct impact on the division and also influence in the broader BMS community.
Role & Responsibilities:
The Senior Principal Scientist will primarily be an individual contributor and leader of a matrix team of analytical scientists, and a core member on the CMC team. The Senior Principal Scientist will collaborate across BMS sites with functional Analytical Leads, Drug Substance and Drug Product Leads, Quality Lead, and Regulatory Lead to generate and execute analytical strategies for the product quality.
- Understanding of product critical quality attributes and establish methods, specifications, analytical control strategies for product development.
- Serve on a cross functional team responsible for analytical related CMC strategy development.
- Review and discuss analytical results and conclusions both orally and in writing.
- Author/ review/approve reports as source documents for inclusion in regulatory filings and support the generation of appropriate responses to questions from regulatory authorities.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to scientific staff. Develop, coach and mentor others in matrix environment.
Desired Experience:
Required:
- Completed BS and 12-15 years; MS and 9-12 years; or Ph.D. and 6-8 years of experience in Chemistry (or relevant discipline) with pharmaceutical experience.
- A demonstrated record of scientific accomplishment, laboratory experimentation, publications, and presentations.
- Understands writing/approval of risk assessments and understands both GMP and GLP requirements for drug product development.
- Fluency in synthetic chemistry, drug substance processing, formulation development, pharmaceutical processing with a deep understanding of pharmaceutical sciences related to drug product development
- Mastery of chemistry with extensive expertise in measurement science.
- Experience in the development and performance of analytical tests for a variety of drug substances and products (including solid oral dosage forms, topicals, parental etc.).
- Knowledge of dissolution method development and testing, and biopharmaceutical assessment.
- In-depth knowledge on method development, validation, and tech transfer.
- Well versed in ICH and country specific requirements to support analytical control strategy.
- Experience in managing external manufacturing and testing laboratories as required for the product.
- Understands drug development and works to build CMC dossier for regulatory submissions as an author/reviewer.
- Experience in worldwide commercialization of small molecule drug products, with recent approvals in major markets. The ideal candidate would have a history of drug approvals as an analytical expert in both drug substance and drug product analytical development.
Ideal Candidates Would Also Have:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills as a team member/leader in an environment where individual initiative, collaboration and accountability are valued.
- Familiar with modern laboratory equipment and automation.
- Understands and applies Quality by Design principles when required.

Position Summary
The TAS is a critical role in our unique customer model to execute the BMS aspiration to be the BioPharma that delivers the most impactful engagement with Health Care Providers (HCPs), driving adoption of new and existing medicines for appropriate patients.
The primary role of the TAS is to drive demand for BMS medicines within their portfolio for the appropriate patients. To meet the HCPs expectations, the TAS engages them with a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx) through deeper scientific dialogue on and consistent with label, leveraging new ways of working and CE^3.
The role builds and maintains strong professional credibility with regional thought leaders (RTLs) and community-based physicians/HCPs in private practice, medical groups practices, office staff, and other stakeholders in the patient care continuum as their primary point of contact.
The TAS liaises with other BMS functions as needed to deliver an overall higher Customer Experience (Cx) – by meeting HCP needs in a timely and scientific manner. This role will prioritize the safe and appropriate use of BMS products while also focusing on overall business results and performance objectives while exemplifying BMS values.
The TAS role is field-based. A TAS is anticipated to spend 100% of their time in the field with external customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio Promotion
- Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory or region to meet or exceed assigned sales targets in a compliant manner.
- Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating in a balanced manner the clinical and scientific rationale for use of products in appropriate patients.
- Engages with and continuously maintains/grows a high level of scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
- Prepares and successfully implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
- Proactively uses available tools such as CE^3 (once implemented) to derive insights and to dynamically inform call plans. Provides feedback on experience using these tools to leadership to enable continuous improvement.
- Fair & Balanced Scientific Dialogue
- Demonstrates scientific expertise and passion in using approved scientific resources and publications to present information to HCPs and ensures medical accuracy.
- Conducts in-office presentations (e.g., lunch and learns) and discusses product-related scientific information with HCPs that is consistent with label.
- Organizes external speaker programs, selecting speakers from list approved by Speakers Bureau and facilitating scheduling and logistics.
- Maintains a high level of working expertise on emerging data for approved indications.
- Engages real-time medical support through Medical on Call to reactively answer unsolicited questions and complex technical inquiries.
- Cross-functional collaboration
- Proactively collaborates with other field teams to ensure the best Customer Experience (Cx) for HCPs.
- Gathers and shares relevant insights and information internally with the appropriate stakeholders to enable BMS to better serve its customers.

Required Qualifications & Experience
- Advanced scientific degree and/or preferred 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience as healthcare sales / MSL / HCP / nurse.
- Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to help physicians best serve their patients.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining strong credibility with key customers, office staff, and others in the customer influence network via a customer-centric mindset and desire to create positive and differentiated Customer Experience (Cx).
- Experience in Immunology required.
- Demonstrated strong capability in account management skill sets, superior selling competencies, and proven sales performance track record of meeting or exceeding goals.

The Director, Technical Operations Validation Lead reports to the Executive Director, Drug Product Cell Therapy Technical Operations within the Cell Therapy Development and Operations (CTDO) organization. This Technical Leadership role will provide Technical oversight to drug product and vector sites covering equipment and process validation for commercial cell therapy products manufactured globally via internal and external manufacturing sites.
This role will be serve as the Global Technical SME for Drug Product and Vector Validation. The lead will develop global technical standards for cell therapy validation and deploy the standards to site MS&T at internal and external sites. The process responsibilities include developing process validation standards, process qualification strategy and framework for cell therapy processes, continuous process verification (CPV) strategy and implementation in a consistent manner across products and sites and ensuring that these standards are reflected in the quality system. Given the broad scope of validation for the expanding cell therapy global network, this role will work across the broader CTO organization to ensure alignment of key focus areas and priorities, develop strategic vision for the groups, hire and develop the leaders for the sub-function and recruit the technical talent.
The Cell Therapy Lead will cover process, equipment and supporting elements of manufacturing validation for all cell therapy products in the portfolio, internal and external manufacturing processes/facilities for the plasmid, viral vector and drug product. The person will own the accountability for the Validation function by providing oversight of all the validation activities, including providing SME assessment for proposed process life-cycle changes. The lead will serve as the Global Point of Contact for sites and will work with the sights to provide oversight and drive activities utilizing site Personnel.
This person will also support validation activities needed during design and build of new manufacturing plants to make sure the engineering approaches consider our harmonized validation framework that is compliant with the global health authority expectations and scientifically sound.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop and implement scientifically sound and fit for purpose validation standards and procedures based on current regulations, industry standards and industry best practices for cell therapy.
- Create, maintain, deploy global cell therapy validation technical standards via quality system.
- Promote innovative and efficient approaches to validation incorporating risk-based elements and considerations unique to cell therapy production.
- Lead, develop and implement the master validation plans for process, equipment, and facilities, in collaboration with the validation and technical SME network.
- Serve as global consultant for update and revision of exiting site validation master plans.
- Develop and guide process validation, qualification and process monitoring strategies and framework.
- Guide the teams to storyboard and present cell therapy global validation framework, standards, and approaches during major health authority inspections.
- Ensure timely technical support for validation related questions for routine manufacturing, lifecycle process changes, quality audits and health authority inspections.
- Provide oversight via review and approval of network site level deliverables, including Validation Master Plans, process validation protocols, impact assessments and risk assessments.
- Author and review CMC summaries of validation for worldwide regulatory submissions for initialization and life-cycle changes.
- Design qualification strategies to support novel applications of fill, filtration, sterilization and single-use disposable technologies.
- Facilitate cell therapy harmonization for existing manufacturing sites and adoption of industry best practices.
- Work with process development and analytical development to ensure early pipeline assets have a robust process for future validation when in pivotal trials.
Qualifications & Experience:
- B.S/MS.S/Ph. D in Chemical Engineering or Life Science
- 12+ years of relevant experience in the biopharmaceutical company with most of that experience demonstrating progression of leadership responsibilities and scope.
- Previous experience should be a combination of technical operation functions such as manufacturing, quality, MS&T or Technical Development.
- At least 10 years of direct experience in GMP environment is necessary.
- The leader should have the ability to define the right processes for the team’s maturity level, balancing agility and discipline.
- Career track record and industry reputation should be competitive at the highest level among industry peers.
- Leader should have demonstrated skill to lead large, complex technical organizations with global scope and build people, processes, and technology in a growing organization. The starting compensation for this job is a range from $182,000 - $228,000 (if based in Summit, NJ), $189,000- $236,000 (if based in Devens, MA) and $194,000-$242,000 (if based in Seattle, WA), plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).
The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed.

The TAS is a critical role in our unique customer model to execute the BMS aspiration to be the BioPharma that delivers the most impactful engagement with Health Care Providers (HCPs), driving adoption of new and existing medicines for appropriate patients.
The primary role of the TAS is to drive demand for BMS medicines within their portfolio for the appropriate patients. Position Summary
The TAS is a critical role in our unique customer model to execute the BMS aspiration to be the BioPharma that delivers the most impactful engagement with Health Care Providers (HCPs), driving adoption of new and existing medicines for appropriate patients.
The primary role of the TAS is to drive demand for BMS medicines within their portfolio for the appropriate patients. To meet the HCPs expectations, the TAS engages them with a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx) through deeper scientific dialogue on and consistent with label, leveraging new ways of working and CE^3.

Required Qualifications & Experience
- Advanced scientific degree and/or preferred 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience as healthcare sales / MSL / HCP / nurse.

Position Summary
The TAS is a critical role in our unique customer model to execute the BMS aspiration to be the BioPharma that delivers the most impactful engagement with Health Care Providers (HCPs), driving adoption of new and existing medicines for appropriate patients.
The primary role of the TAS is to drive demand for BMS medicines within their portfolio for the appropriate patients. To meet the HCPs expectations, the TAS engages them with a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx) through deeper scientific dialogue on and consistent with label, leveraging new ways of working and CE^3.
The role builds and maintains strong professional credibility with regional thought leaders (RTLs) and community-based physicians/HCPs in private practice, medical groups practices, office staff, and other stakeholders in the patient care continuum as their primary point of contact.
The TAS liaises with other BMS functions as needed to deliver an overall higher Customer Experience (Cx) – by meeting HCP needs in a timely and scientific manner. This role will prioritize the safe and appropriate use of BMS products while also focusing on overall business results and performance objectives while exemplifying BMS values.
The TAS role is field-based. A TAS is anticipated to spend 100% of their time in the field with external customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio Promotion
- Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory or region to meet or exceed assigned sales targets in a compliant manner.
- Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating in a balanced manner the clinical and scientific rationale for use of products in appropriate patients.
- Engages with and continuously maintains/grows a high level of scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
- Prepares and successfully implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
- Proactively uses available tools such as CE^3 (once implemented) to derive insights and to dynamically inform call plans. Provides feedback on experience using these tools to leadership to enable continuous improvement.
- Fair & Balanced Scientific Dialogue
- Demonstrates scientific expertise and passion in using approved scientific resources and publications to present information to HCPs and ensures medical accuracy.
- Conducts in-office presentations (e.g., lunch and learns) and discusses product-related scientific information with HCPs that is consistent with label.
- Organizes external speaker programs, selecting speakers from list approved by Speakers Bureau and facilitating scheduling and logistics.
- Maintains a high level of working expertise on emerging data for approved indications.
- Engages real-time medical support through Medical on Call to reactively answer unsolicited questions and complex technical inquiries.
- Cross-functional collaboration
- Proactively collaborates with other field teams to ensure the best Customer Experience (Cx) for HCPs.
- Gathers and shares relevant insights and information internally with the appropriate stakeholders to enable BMS to better serve its customers.
- Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies that govern the conduct of BMS.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Advanced scientific degree and/or preferred 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience as healthcare sales / MSL / HCP / nurse.
- Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to help physicians best serve their patients.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining strong credibility with key customers, office staff, and others in the customer influence network via a customer-centric mindset and desire to create positive and differentiated Customer Experience (Cx).
- Experience in Immunology required.
- Demonstrated strong capability in account management skill sets, superior selling competencies, and proven sales performance track record of meeting or exceeding goals.

The Senior Clinical Trial Physician sits within Clinical Development Pulmonology, which is a global organization dedicated to the effective design and execution of drug development. Clinical Development drives clinical development strategy, design, execution, and interpretation of clinical trials.
Position Summary / Objective
- Serves as a primary source of medical accountability and oversight for multiple clinical trials
- Matrix management responsibilities across the internal and external network
- Manages Phase 1 – Phase 3 studies, with demonstrated decision making capabilities
- Provides medical and scientific expertise to cross-functional BMS colleagues
Position Responsibilities
Medical Monitoring
- Contributes to and is a key member of a high performing Study Delivery Team (SDT) and may be a member of the Clinical Development Team (CDT)
- Leads medical data review of trial data, including eligibility review
- Holds responsibility for site interactions in partnership with the Clinical Scientist (CS) for medical questions and education (including safety management guidelines)
- Holds responsibility for assessment of key safety-related serious adverse events in partnership with Worldwide Patient Safety and oversees safety narratives
- Leads collaboration with CS and inputs into protocols, providing medical strategic oversight in protocol development (input on inclusion/exclusion and other safety-related clinical considerations)
- Fulfills GCP and compliance obligations for clinical conduct and maintains all required training
Clinical Development Expertise & Strategy
- In collaboration with the Clinical Development Lead, designs and develops clinical plans and protocols with a strong strategic focus based on knowledge of asset/drug, disease area and relevant science in order to meet regulatory and disease strategy targets
- Provides oversight and medical accountability for a group of studies
- Leads the analysis of benefit/risk for clinical development protocols in a matrix team environment working with Clinical Scientists (CS)
- Partners with CS to support executional delivery of studies (e.g., site activation, enrollment status, as well as adjudication for protocol violations, significant, non-significant deviations etc.)
- Identifies and builds relationships with principal investigators. Identifies and cultivates thought leaders in order to gain their inputs on emerging science in drug and biomarker research, disease knowledge, and design of clinical development studies and programs
- Maintains a strong medical/scientific reputation within the disease area. Has in-depth knowledge of etiology, natural history, diagnosis, and treatment of the disorder. Holds strong expertise in the disease area by attending scientific conferences and ongoing review of the literature
- Keeps abreast of development and regulatory issues related to other competitive or relevant compounds in development and how our portfolio fits into the competitive landscape
- Provides ongoing medical education in partnership with collaborating Clinical Scientists to allow for protocol-specific training, supporting the study team, investigators, and others
Health Authority Interactions & Publications
- Contributes to and serves as medical point of expertise in key Health Authority interactions and advisory board meetings as Senior Clinical Trial Physician
- Authors/drafts clinical content for CSRs, regulatory reports, briefing books and submission documents to support closure, clinical narratives, reporting and filling of the study in partnership with CSs

- MD required (or x-US equivalent)

- 5 or more years of Industry experience and/or clinical trials experience is required

The starting compensation for this job is a range from $279,000-$321,000 plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility). The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed.
