Bristol-Myers Squibb is seeking to recruit a QC Raw Materials Intern to join the QC Site Operations team at its Multi-Product Cell Culture Drug Substance Facility in Cruiserath, Dublin.
The QC Raw Materials Intern will join the QC Site Operations team at its Large-Scale Cell Culture Drug Substance Facility in Cruiserath, Dublin. Reporting to the QC Material Management Supervisor, they will be responsible for supporting site activities related to performing testing of samples and laboratory duties in accordance with cGMP regulations.
The main responsibilities for this position include:
- Performing QC testing (TOC, Conductivity, pH) of samples. Completion in a timely and accurate manner of laboratory documentation as directed by the QC Material Management Supervisor.
- Compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and Registered Specifications.
- Assisting in authoring and reviewing documentation, including SOPs and OJTs, as required.
- Batch paperwork review, and reconciliation of analysis performed in laboratory. Ensuring that any out of specification results are investigated according to site procedures.
- Assisting with out of specification investigations and deviations using the Infinity system.
- Sample management activities - ensuring chain of custody is maintained using CIMS and LIMS.
- Keeps abreast of current corporate and industry requirements and compliance trends as they pertain to laboratory operations and aseptic manufacturing.
- Performing any other activities as indicated by the Lab Supervisor.
The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in a team based collaborative environment.

During your placement as Manufacturing Support and Engineering Intern you will get experience of working with one of our Manufacturing Support and Manufacturing Engineering functions and you will get exposure to various Manufacturing activities such as:
- Become the first Line for Manufacturing Support & Co-ordination, Continuous Improvement, Continuous Innovation.
- Help identify process improvement projects and lead projects to completion.
- Assist in drafting process impact assessments to support investigation closure.
- Assist in drafting change controls, CAPA’s, investigations, improvement projects and operational safety. Minimize human error and work with operations to remove sources of error.
- Drafting of Operations procedures, electronic batch records and other GMP documentation and provide technical training and knowledge transfer to the Operations team.
- Multiproduct and product changeover: implementing new product introductions from an Operations perspective.
- Support introduction of new products to Manufacturing.
- Lead and implement new technology solutions such as Single-Use-Systems.
- Supporting Sustaining Operations on Process/Equipment issues
- Delivery of Continuous Process Improvements on Process/Equipment
- Process/Engineering changes in support Tech Transfers and New Product Introductions

Initiate, revise and evaluate change controls in respect of contract manufacturers
Support all activities associated with uploading and approval of protocols, reports, memos and other quality relevant documents in the Document Management System
Support preparation of Quality Agreements and purchase specs.
Support Annual Product Reviews submitted by the CMO’s and prepare for approval
Support in providing information for quality council meeting
Follow corporate policies and directives.
Support audit observation closure.
Review and update CMO Bona Fides as required.
Support the update of annual risk assessments for CMOs as required.
Support the update of stability protocols as necessary.

Job function:
Participate in and provide support quality services responsibilities as required.
Responsibilities:
- Support the compilation and analysis of the Quality Performance metrics of the various business units of ExM Quality for Quality Council and Strategy/Business Operations, ensuring timely escalations and actions.
- Support the Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) Market Action Fact Finding Meetings (FIT / FIRM) and PRC processes for major / critical investigations involving Third Party products.
- Support authoring of Field Alert Reports, Biological Product Defect Reports, Quality Defect Notifications, and all other Health Authority notifications associated with CMOs managed by ExM
- Support improvement projects as needed
- Interface with relevant departments to ensure compliance with corporate policies, GMP and regulatory requirements
- Support the progression of GMP documents within the Documentation Management System
- Authoring of QA-related procedures
- Support the review and approval of site procedures
- Engage in Quality Culture initiatives
- Engage in Operational Excellence initiatives
- Support team with routine administration of team meetings, presentations, issuance of meeting minutes as assigned by supervisor.
- Other tasks as assigned by the manager, e.g. support with team meetings (creating presentations, minutes taking) etc.

Activities you will be involved in during your placement as QA Operations Intern include:
- Support the Qualified Person disposition process for Drug Substance/Drug Product.
- Support the QA Manufacturing Operations shift team and batch record review process.
- Conduct QA review and approval of functional area documentation.
- Support the disposition process for Working Cell Banks to ensure timely release to manufacturing operations.
- Interface with relevant departments to ensure compliance with corporate policies, GMP and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with BMS Supply Chain and Quality colleagues to ensure that disposition lead times are consistently met.
- Prepare and present Quality metrics to support timely approval of batch records, closure of investigations and Drug Substance release.
- Support the site inspection readiness program for internal and external regulatory inspections.
- Support the progression of GMP documents within the Documentation Management System.
- Support the administration of Annual Product Quality Reviews.
- Authoring, review and approval of QA-related procedures.
- Identify and implement continuous improvements within the QA group to support business processes and metrics.
- Engage in Quality Culture initiatives.
Due to the nature of the role, you may work in other and/or multiple QA areas once the appropriate training has been completed.

During your placement as Supply Chain Intern, you will get experience of working with one of our Supply Chain functions and you will get exposure to various Supply Chain activities such as:
- Day to day Site Supply Chain activities, Materials & Production planning for Drug Substance Manufacture
- Run SAP transactions & reports for production inventory usage analysis.
- Support the Raw Material & Planning huddle boards.
- Generate Monthly Inventory Reports for Global Capability Hub
- Support the material volumes generation process including coordination of material decision documents.
- Support the delivery versus required-by dates process to ensure materials available on time for Manufacturing.
- Perform Supplier Order Confirmations in SAP ERP system.
- Support the delivery versus required-by date’s process to ensure materials available for Manufacturing.
- Support the material volumes generation process through the generation. review and use of the SOV tool and Shortage report monthly.
- Attend Manufacturing Support meetings where necessary.
- Support the update of Supply Chain related GMP documentation and processes where necessary.
- Assist with Supply Chain projects as required.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Control Data Analyst to join our team with Business Intelligence and Analytics background. The successful candidate will be responsible for data digitization projects which involve in working close with the EXM Inventory Control Team. The project focuses on developing inventory business intelligence and data analytics projects over a 6-9 month period. Responsibilities include establishing rules in data prep for data conversion, contributing to visualization outputs used by ExM Senior Leadership for decision-making.
Required Skills / Competencies:
- Proficiency in Business Intelligence and Analytics.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with systems such as Data Prep.
- Six Sigma certification is desirable.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, self-motivation, and innovation.
Key Deliverables & Milestones:
- Month 1-3:
- Onboarding, training, and understanding the inventory database.
- Familiarize with BMS behaviors and safety culture.
- Onboarding to BMS systems.
- Training and overview on ExM inventory and CMO profiles.
- Month 4-6:
- Develop rules, test execution, and prelaunch the program.
- Develop Tableau Data Prep rules using the CMO/TPW Inventory report and convert to BMS Data using a pre-existing database. The goal is to automate the data prep.
- Month 6-9:
- Data Test, Launch and handover
Key Learnings for the Intern:
- Understanding how data intelligence feeds into visualization to ease Senior Leadership decision-making and endorsement.
- Managing large data sets, organizing, and profiling.
- Attention to detail and impact.
- Process simplification.
Qualifications:
- Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, IT, Computing for Business, bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Key responsibilities will include:
o Support the Qualified Person with the Batch Certification function
o Prepare and review batch documentation packages for QP release as per SOP requirements
o Liaise with BMS Supply Chain and Quality colleagues to ensure that disposition lead times are consistently met
o Update SOPs, controlled documents i.e. FORMS and OJTs
o Assist in new product introduction activities as required
o Provide training to new team members
o Support the site inspection readiness program for corporate and regulatory inspections
o Identify and make recommendations for improvements to ensure continuous improvement
o Participate in site activities associated with the QMS (e.g. Change Control, Self-Inspections, Quality Agreement updates, Customer Complaints, Product Quality Record Reviews) as required
o Ensure that all work carried out follows the required standards conforming to SOPs, regulatory regulations and guidelines, and Quality Agreements
o Perform additional team tasks as agreed to support effective running of the function
Qualifications and Experience required:
o Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
o Ability to work on his/her own initiative in addition to working as part of a team
o Good organizational skills and attention to detail
o Ability to handle multiple assignments and changing priorities
o Ability to learn and utilize computerised systems for daily performance of tasks
o Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines

We are currently seeking to recruit Students for placements within the Quality Assurance Department commencing 2025.
- Support the materials release program in particular consumable and raw materials release.
- Interface with relevant departments to ensure compliance with corporate policies, GMP and regulatory requirements
- Support the site inspection readiness program for internal and external regulatory inspections
- Support the progression of GMP documents within the Documentation Management System
- Assist in the roll out of training for quality systems such as GMP and Induction training
- Support QA activities for Global BioLab and Multi-Product Cell Culture, as applicable, for:
- Method validations and technical transfers
- Change controls
- Deviations/Investigations
- CAPAs
- Qualification/Validation protocols & reports for instruments, equipment, utilities & computer systems
- Requalification Activities
- Other associated documentation
- Authoring, review and approval of QA-related procedures
- Support the review and approval of site procedures
- Engage in Quality Culture initiatives
- Engage in Operational Excellence
