Position Summary

At BMS, we are proud to bring innovative medicines to patients with clinical unmet need. We work in a highly collaborative environment across multiple functions in drug discovery and early development to identify & validate novel oncology targets. Once validated, our team works to identify & characterize chemical matter to drug the target of interest. We use novel model systems, assays and state-of-the-art technologies to identify novel medicines that will ultimately benefit patients.

The summer intern will be immersed in the drug discovery process, have an opportunity to learn from high-functioning teams and experience cutting-edge science to enable discovery of medicines for patients in need of new treatment options. Interns will interact with stakeholders from various teams, learn to ask the right questions, do the best experiments and present data. In addition to gaining experience with hands-on science, the intern will also learn scientific communication and how to be effective in a team. This program will ensure that the intern has a robust experience of the drug discovery process.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Currently enrolled student, on track to graduate by Spring 2026, seeking a Bachelor’s or Masters’ degree in biology (or related field) from an accredited institution
  • Hands-on experience with lab techniques such as in vitro cell culture, Western Blot, ELISA etc. Applicants with past academic or industry laboratory experience/internships are encouraged to apply.
  • Effective communication skills, ability to work with teams in a matrixed organization.

On-site Protocol

BMS has a diverse occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work. Site-essential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility. Site-by-design roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility.
