From 16 to 18 September 2023, five Bristol Myers Squibb employees from Belgium and the Netherlands participated in the eighth edition of the Country 2 Country 4 Cancer (C2C4C) bike race. After months of intensive training, they will give their best during three cycling stages from Paris, across Amiens and Calais, to Dover to finish in Uxbridge (London).
The three-day ride is part of an 18-day event where six teams will cycle for three days each. In total, 90 BMS employees will cycle an impressive 2,200 kilometres through Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain and the United Kingdom.
The C2C4 bike ride is a charity ride to raise more awareness for cancer research and the European cancer organisations that are members of C2C4C. Together, BMS employees cycle to raise funds for charities in the fight against cancer. This year, proceeds in the Netherlands will go to Villa Joep, a fund against childhood neuroblastoma cancer, and in Belgium to Stichting tegen Kanker.
From the entire Bristol Myers Squibb team, we would like to congratulate Ingrid, Xavier, Kim, Alice and Eric for their endless efforts and fantastic accomplishments!
Collaboration with the Foundation Against Cancer
Last year, the C2C4C team of Bart Becquart, Anniek De Nie, Sally Ann McNab, Pieter-Jan Mattheus, Karin Bedeker and Dennis Schoonderwoerd cycled the charity ride. Also, in 2022, a conscious decision was made for the Foundation against Cancer.
This collaboration symbolises our joint commitment to the fight against cancer and underlines the power of teamwork. With the money raised during the bike ride, we support cancer research and help patients. As the icing on the cake, the official handover of the jersey to the Foundation Against Cancer occurred recently. A sign of our commitment to them.
