Associate Director, Statistical Programming, provides functional expertise and leadership to clinical project teams to lead statistical programming teams and support the development, regulatory approval and market acceptance of Bristol Myers Squibb products. This position is primarily responsible for the design, development and implementation of technical solutions for integrating, analyzing and reporting clinical data. Associate Director drives the development and implementation of innovative strategies and technologies for clinical trial programming. Associate Director develop collaborative relationships and work effectively within Global Biometrics & Data Sciences (GBDS), with external vendors and members of cross-functional development teams.
Associate Director, Statistical Programming, independently leads improvement initiatives under sponsoring of Therapeutic Area Head or Statistical Programming leadership team. They proactively plan, implement, and identify issues/risks and provide remediation strategies to facilitate decision making. Managers also lead the change management process (e.g. communication, training, stakeholder engagement).
This position may include functional management responsibilities. In this role, Associate Director, Statistical Programming, is responsible for managing employees: set objectives, manage performance, and provide meaningful coaching and feedback. They also support the evaluation and recruitment of potential employees.
Project Responsibilities:
- Provides comprehensive programming leadership and support to complex clinical project teams and vendors, including deployment of programming strategies, standards, specifications and programmed analysis to comply with regulatory requirements, SOPs and work practices
- Drives the development and implementation of innovative strategies and technologies for clinical trial programming
- Independently develops, validates, troubleshoots, and maintains complex programs and utilities in accordance with predefined specifications and standards
- Leads the electronic submission preparation and review
- Develops unambiguous and robust programming specifications (e.g. ADaM specifications)
- Reviews planning documents (e.g., statistical analysis plan, data presentation plan, data review plan) to align with project objectives and ensures clarity and completeness of programming assumptions and requirements; Assesses document robustness and impact on programming activities
Improvement Responsibilities:
- Drives, Identifies, leads, and supports opportunities to enhance processes and technology
- Communicates proactively and effectively around issues and risks and contributes to its remediation
Managerial Responsibilities:
- Effectively recruits, manages, develops, evaluates, rewards, motivates, and retains direct reports, resulting in an increasing level of capabilities within GBDS
- Conducts objective setting, performance check-ins, and year-end discussions in compliance with BMS policies; aligns objectives, feedback and performance evaluation with manager
- Meets regularly with direct reports, focusing on project updates, development needs, issue resolution, and provides real-time coaching and feedback; holds staff accountable for quality and timeliness of programming activities; ensures staff is compliant with training requirements
- Communicates with manager regarding promotions, performance concerns, and retention risks
- Builds and maintains a network with stakeholders and peers to ensure cross-functional strategies and objectives intertwine and build upon each other to achieve results
- Act as extended member of Statistical Programming Leadership Team in sharing and building up the line function vision
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, computer science or life sciences required
- At least 10 years programming experience in industry including support of significant regulatory filings and minimum 5 years of experience in managing technical professionals in a regulated environment
- Expertise in support of Clinical Pharmacology studies
- Proficient knowledge of drug development process, clinical trial methodology, regulatory guidance, industry standards, statistical concepts, and medical terminology used in the analysis and submission of clinical data
- Broad expertise in statistical programming and in developing computing strategies
- In-depth understanding of clinical data structure (e.g. CDISC standards) and relational databases
- Demonstrated proficiency in using SAS to produce analysis datasets and TFLs and in using other software tools and applications (e.g. MS office, XML, Pinnacle 21)
- Demonstrated ability in processing of upstream data (e.g. multiple data forms, workflows, eDC, SDTM); Demonstrated ability in providing deliverables to meet downstream requirements, (e.g. ADaM, TFLs, e-submission components)
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with clinical team members

Position Summary
The TAS is a critical role in our unique customer model to execute the BMS aspiration to be the BioPharma that delivers the most impactful engagement with Health Care Providers (HCPs), driving adoption of new and existing medicines for appropriate patients.
The primary role of the TAS is to drive demand for BMS medicines within their portfolio for the appropriate patients. To meet the HCPs expectations, the TAS engages them with a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx) through deeper scientific dialogue on and consistent with label, leveraging new ways of working and CE^3.
The role builds and maintains strong professional credibility with regional thought leaders (RTLs) and community-based physicians/HCPs in private practice, medical groups practices, office staff, and other stakeholders in the patient care continuum as their primary point of contact.
The TAS liaises with other BMS functions as needed to deliver an overall higher Customer Experience (Cx) – by meeting HCP needs in a timely and scientific manner. This role will prioritize the safe and appropriate use of BMS products while also focusing on overall business results and performance objectives while exemplifying BMS values.
The TAS role is field-based. A TAS is anticipated to spend 100% of their time in the field with external customers.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Promotion
Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory or region to meet or exceed assigned sales targets in a compliant manner.
Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating in a balanced manner the clinical and scientific rationale for use of products in appropriate patients.
Engages with and continuously maintains/grows a high level of scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
Prepares and successfully implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
Proactively uses available tools such as CE^3 (once implemented) to derive insights and to dynamically inform call plans. Provides feedback on experience using these tools to leadership to enable continuous improvement.
Fair & Balanced Scientific Dialogue
Demonstrates scientific expertise and passion in using approved scientific resources and publications to present information to HCPs and ensures medical accuracy.
Conducts in-office presentations (e.g., lunch and learns) and discusses product-related scientific information with HCPs that is consistent with label.
Organizes external speaker programs, selecting speakers from list approved by Speakers Bureau and facilitating scheduling and logistics.
Maintains a high level of working expertise on emerging data for approved indications.
Engages real-time medical support through Medical on Call to reactively answer unsolicited questions and complex technical inquiries.
Cross-functional collaboration
Proactively collaborates with other field teams to ensure the best Customer Experience (Cx) for HCPs.
Gathers and shares relevant insights and information internally with the appropriate stakeholders to enable BMS to better serve its customers.
Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies that govern the conduct of BMS.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Advanced scientific degree and/or preferred 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience as healthcare sales / MSL / HCP / nurse.
Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to help physicians best serve their patients.
Demonstrated experience building and maintaining strong credibility with key customers, office staff, and others in the customer influence network via a customer-centric mindset and desire to create positive and differentiated Customer Experience (Cx).
Experience in Oncology required.
Demonstrated strong capability in account management skill sets, superior selling competencies, and proven sales performance track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive team mindset and can-do attitude.

Position Summary
Manage the development and maintenance of the cleaning validation and changeover cleaning verification program elements for a fully automated, multi-product, biologics manufacturing facility to assure readiness for intended use and to meet all policy and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for implementing the design, implementation and maintenance of a robust cleaning validation lifecycle for process equipment and systems, that includes a bench-scale cleaning program, an efficient cleaning validation philosophy, a cleaning monitoring program, and a cleaning verification changeover program for a fully automated, multi-product biologics manufacturing facility.
- Establish and implement the cleaning validation philosophies and master plans required to drive the cleaning validation lifecycle.
- Responsibilities include oversight of cleaning validation lifecycle maintenance that includes establishment of validation document hierarchy, tracking execution work arising from change controls, shutdown/changeover management related to validation, and management of the revalidation and cleaning monitoring programs.
- Responsible for regulatory inspection readiness and guidance to ensure cleaning validation and cleaning verification changeover philosophies are well understood.
- Manage multiple projects.
- Work collaboratively with peers within the Validation Execution function, Manufacturing Systems, Information Technology, Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering and Quality
- Effectively manage workload to address priorities, meet schedules, maximize productivity, reduce costs, and increase efficiencies.
- Ensure alignment with BMS directives and industry guidelines on cleaning validation and quality engineering.
- Leads and/or executes validation work arising from change controls, capital projects, shutdown/changeover activity, and ongoing validation lifecycle programs. This individual works at the highest level and collaborates with Quality Assurance, to establish appropriate, risk-based validation methodologies.
- Provides validation subject matter expertise (SME) and contributes to multi-function teams, advises operations on cleaning validation matters.
- Supports internal compliance and/or efficiency improvement efforts within department for more complex processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Knowledge of Engineering and Quality Assurance generally attained through studies resulting in a B.S., in engineering, a related discipline, or its equivalent and applicable industry experience.
- A minimum of 6 years relevant experience in a Validation role in the biopharmaceutical industry or its equivalent.
- Experience with process equipment and system qualification, steaming/sterilization qualification, cleaning validation, and multi-product changeover requirements.
- Experience in designing cleaning program elements, steaming/sterilization program elements, bench-scale studies to support cleaning and implementation of supporting quality systems required to manage the cleaning cycles and changeover program of a fully automated, multi-product, biologics manufacturing facility.
- Experience in establishing site and program validation strategies that are aligned with current industry mindsets.
- Understanding of the US and ex-US regulatory requirements for licensure of a multi-product biopharmaceutical facility.
- Understanding of lean principles and establishment of effective process metrics is preferred.
- Project management, communication, and technical writing skills are required.
- Possess the professionalism and technical competency required to represent the department before our stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and management.
- Working knowledge of SOPs, cGMPs and compliance requirements and regulatory guidelines (FDA, EU) and the technical acumen to work and manage within a regulatory environment.
- Knowledge of regulatory validation requirements including FDA, EMA and all other Worldwide Regulatory requirements (ICH Q7, Q8, and Q9) particularly as it applies to biologics manufacturing.
- Ability to develop and apply new and innovative approaches to projects and processes.
- Must be able to influence others.

The Sr. Director, Cell Therapy Devens Manufacturing Site IT Lead position plays a critical role in managing all corporate & locally supported infrastructure and software at the Devens, MA Cell Therapy manufacturing site. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Platform and Product Manager to oversee the IT operations at our manufacturing site. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, managing IT platforms, ensuring seamless integration and functionality, and driving product development initiatives. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, IT infrastructure, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions. The role must excel at supporting the site’s daily operations while also developing a strategic IT roadmap for the site. This role will work closely with executive leadership and other key stakeholders to support the organization's growth and success.
This role will report to the Executive Director, Business Insights & Technology - Cell Therapy Manufacturing Operations and will also be part of CTGM IT Leadership Team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead a matrixed organization composed of both site direct reports and groups of indirect reports to deliver effective, innovative and stable solutions that meet the needs of the site. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Active member of the Cell Therapy Site Leadership Team (SLT). Collaborate with site leadership to develop, support, and align strategies for business process improvements through information systems automation.
- Function as the liaison and the single point of contact between site leadership and corporate IT.
- IT Platform Management:
- Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of IT platforms to support manufacturing operations.
- Ensure the integration and compatibility of various IT systems and platforms.
- Monitor and optimize platform performance, reliability, and security.
- Product Management:
- Lead the product development lifecycle, from concept to launch, for IT solutions supporting manufacturing operations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define product requirements, prioritize features, and create product roadmaps.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Project Management:
- Plan, execute, and manage IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve issues as they arise.
- Track project progress and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Develop and implement comprehensive IT strategies that support the organization's business objectives and growth plans. Ensure the IT applications can support the current and the expected future patient capacity.
- Oversee the development and management of the IT budget, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
- Accountable for continuous operation, maintenance and improvement of process automation systems, MES, LIMS, application integrations, local manufacturing, quality control and quality management site IT systems as well as associated site infrastructure.
- Lead Cell Therapy site service level management scope and process with IT groups and/or vendor managed services, i.e. Service Level Agreements (SLA’s), Disaster Recovery/Service Continuity, etc.
- Provide IT leadership to site regulatory inspection readiness and data integrity initiatives.
- Participate in high-level strategic communications with the business and site leadership teams.
- Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of the organization's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and storage systems. Oversee the implementation and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Manage new demand from the various site functions (Manufacturing Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Science & Technology) through the IT stage gate process.
- Identify key technology trends and how new technologies might be leveraged to provide better solutions to the manufacturing site.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with IT vendors, service providers, and consultants.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in an Information Technology, life sciences or engineering discipline (Master’s Degree preferred) or a minimum of 12 years of equivalent biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Proven experience in IT platform management, product management, and manufacturing site IT operations.
- Extensive experience in a senior IT leadership role, with a proven track record of successful IT strategy development and execution preferably within a pharmaceutical technical operations environment. Experience should range from manufacturing and quality control systems to GxP quality management systems.
- Demonstrated Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure systems, change management, staff mentoring, performance evaluation, life-long learning, and diagnosis of sources of problems in both technology and business processes.
- Deep knowledge of regulatory requirements in the areas of current Good Manufacturing Process (cGMP).
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and the role technology plays in satisfying those requirements is essential to this position.
- Thorough understanding of best practices in SDLC and ITIL.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. Must be client service-driven with excellent relationship management and analytical skills.
- MES, Automation, IT Quality & Compliance, Enterprise System Integrations, IT infrastructure and IT Lab Systems experience preferred.

Position Summary
Position reports to the Director of Medical Communications within Cell Therapy and is responsible for the strategy and execution of medical communication plans. This role will ensure the disclosure of the science and health economic value of BMS products and research data to inform Healthcare Providers, Patients, and Payers in accordance with local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
The Associate Director of Medical Communications is accountable for the following:
Medical Communications Strategy:
Establishing a clear, viable and compelling strategy for the Medical Communications, aligned with overall Medical vision, strategy and objectives, and ensure delivery of timely and high-quality medical publications, scientific content, medical education, medical information, and congress presentations.
Understand the communication needs across markets and own the pull-through and execution of the Scientific Narrative, development & execution of functionally integrated publication plan, content plan, and application to the Scientific Communication Platform (SCP).
Lead development of medical communications and ensure timely journal submissions, publications, congress presentations, and deliver of internal and external scientific content
Must have strong business acumen, ability to interface with matrix partners to make trade-off decisions by managing Medical Communications budget and allocation of funds and resources to highest business priorities.
Data Dissemination:
Serve as a subject matter expert to BMS internal audiences related to communication landscape, HCP preferences, publication and scientific content planning, data disclosure / dissemination, and represent BMS scientific communications to external investigators, key authors and journal editors.
Leading internal process improvements to ensure BMS remains an ethical and credible leader in the practice of publications & scientific content; leading transformation efforts and for ensuring BMS publication & scientific content standards are aligned with Good Publication Practices and industry standards, and all BMS employees engaged in publication activities follow Good Publication Practices guidance with the highest degree of integrity, quality and transparency.
Providing oversight to the team for the development and execution of functionally integrated and aligned medical communications plans; adjust communications plans in accordance with clinical trial results/milestones and changes in the healthcare landscape
Demonstrates scientific/research expertise to support the establishment of strong working collaborations with both internal and external disease-area experts to ensure quality data analysis, interpretation, communication planning & data disclosure/dissemination.
Ensures collection of insights to deliver high quality medical communication that enables the most impactful dialogue and interactions with customers.
Identifies and drives opportunities to enhance processes, tools, operating procedures, and outsourcing strategy to ensure consistent delivery and alignment of standards
Stakeholder Engagement:
Fostering collaborative relationships with academic & clinical experts, publishers, medical associations & other relevant key stakeholder groups; participating in external initiatives to foster trust and respect amongst academic and medical publishing community
Collaborating with internal stakeholders across the Medical matrix (e.g., the country and regional medical directors) and other Scientific Communications & Engagement team (e.g., Customer Engagement, Field Medical Excellence, Congress Strategy, Training & Compliance) to leverage external insights to inform medical communications planning
Partners externally with 3rd party vendors to ensure the appropriate balance of internal and external execution of work
Establishes clear metrics aligned to meeting customer needs and demonstrating desired outcomes of activities. Regularly communicates metrics with key stakeholders
Qualifications & Experience
Advance scientific degree, PharmD, PhD or MD preferred
7-10 years of Pharmaceutical/Healthcare industry experience with a focus on medical communications; experience in both local country & global preferred
Experience of leading a large team or multiple teams; and demonstrated strength in leading teams to high performance
Demonstrated ability to lead strategically, drive performance, build alignment, inform, negotiate and collaborate
Proven ability to work in an ambiguous environment, and develop teams with a focus on quick deliverables
Experience leading cross-functional, cross-cultural project teams, and collaborating across matrix, multiple markets and global geographies
Demonstrated success driving optimal business results in a large complex corporate environment with multiple priorities and tight timelines
Ability to manage timelines and quality of work using strong leadership, organizational, communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills
Proven experience establishing strategic direction for teams, and proven ability to achieve set objectives; ability to take educated risk, rise above technical expertise; demonstrating judgement, wisdom and understanding of impact
Experience with change leadership and appreciation for complexity of leading teams through change
Experience leading medical communications across all phases of drug development and commercialization
Ability to analyze and interpret trial data

Associate Director, Statistical Programming, provides functional expertise and leadership to clinical project teams to lead statistical programming teams and support the development, regulatory approval and market acceptance of Bristol Myers Squibb products. This position is primarily responsible for the design, development and implementation of technical solutions for integrating, analyzing and reporting clinical data. Associate Director drives the development and implementation of innovative strategies and technologies for clinical trial programming. Position Summary:
Accountable for implementing and supporting strategic information systems that enable Global Development Operations (GDO), specifically focusing on Veeva Clinical Vault (Veeva CTMS, Veeva eTMF). Description of the project and work required (including references)
The candidate will be responsible for developing applications and tools in support of data visualization and reporting, including the use of R Shiny as the reporting layer, Web programming in JavaScript/CSS for customized UI, and R and/or SAS for any pre-processing/data manipulation.
Examples of some of the R methods/packages that the candidate will be expected to use include ggplot2, plotly, dplyr, haven/readxl. Candidate will also be involved in generating complex graphs used for statistical analysis and interpretation such as DAG (Directed Acyclic Diagrams) and Sankey plots, among others.
In addition to the development of new code, the candidate will be expected to support and maintain standard R programs, which will comprise a library of code to be used for future development and developing and writing database procedures and schemas.
