At Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS), our mission is to discover, develop and deliver innovative medicines that help patients with serious diseases. It’s what drives and unites us and at BMS Canada we take pride in of the contributions we make to Canadian patients.
While we work towards our mission of transforming lives through science every day; for one full week all around the world, we take a pause and celebrate our patients by listening and learning from their lived experiences. That is the purpose of Global Patient Week and it has been an essential part of our patient-centric culture for close to a decade. It is a way that we come together, celebrate our values, re-center around our mission, and provide our employees with a sense of purpose.
For our ninth annual Global Patient Week, BMS Canada welcomed patients with lived disease experience to our offices to share their personal stories of courage and hope. The opportunity to hear their shared stories continues to fuel and energize our work and reminds us that there’s still work to do today and into the future.
Hearing directly from patients not only provides opportunities for our employees to engage on how BMS can improve outcomes for patients but it also inspires us to discuss how we can improve access to our medicines.
As part of our Global Patient Week 2023 celebrations, BMS Canada employees also volunteered their time to assemble Comfort Kits for cancer patients in our community and wrote greeting cards for cancer patients undergoing treatments.
Thank you to all those who participated in Global Patient Week. From Canada to the farthest corners of the world, our exceptional team stands united in our unwavering mission to improve patient outcomes through the power of science.
