Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated student for a 10-week summer internship to support our mission of delivering the right medicine to the right patient at the right time. The successful candidate will work with a mentor to develop and apply a bioinformatics toolkit designed to maximize the utility of multi-modal datasets for target evaluation, with a specific focus on protein and protein post-translational modification data. This toolkit will include components for data curation, analysis, and reporting. The intern will apply the toolkit to one or more projects, demonstrating its value in drug discovery and pre-clinical development. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge datasets and technologies, fostering both independent and collaborative research in an industry R&D setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a computational resource comprising large-scale multi-modal datasets, including genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, and protein post-translational modification data.
  • Design and implement a robust computational framework for the systematic integration and analysis of diverse data types.
  • Apply the computational framework to one or more pipeline projects, demonstrating its utility for target discovery and evaluation, including identifying relevant indications and patient segments.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Pursuing or holding a degree in bioinformatics (MS/PhD); candidates with an equivalent background in a related field (biology, biophysics, etc.) and strong bioinformatics skills will also be considered.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (preferably R) and a solid understanding of 'omic datasets, including mass-spectrometry-based proteomics data.
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate and evaluate scientific hypotheses, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be able to work full-time for the 10-week program duration.

The starting compensation for this job is a range from $35.00/hour - $43.00/hour. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and the geographic location where work is performed.
