Description:   

The Executive Director of WW Cardiovascular Commercial – Strategy, Early Assets, Business Development is responsible for leading a high performing team that is focused on growing and optimizing our future cardiovascular portfolio.  This is an important role for the franchise and also an integral part of the WW Cardiovascular Commercial LT.  This role is accountable to ensure that the team acts synergistically to: Deliver robust franchise level strategies and corresponding investment recommendations; Optimize the early asset portfolio for commercial success; identify as well as assess the commercial attractiveness of external opportunities for partnerships, licensing, and acquisitions.  Additional responsibilities include:   

  • Fostering strong collaborative working relationships across the R&D, Enterprise Strategy, Business Development, Business Insights and Analytics as well as Commercial organizations
  • Formulating concise recommendations and a narrative to inform WW Cardiovascular future investments (internal and external)
  • Develop narrative and lead preparation for key senior management reviews and presentations
  • Leading and/or supporting portfolio level projects, including but not limited to Portfolio Prioritization  

Requirements:   

  • 10+ years of experience in pharma (e.g., Marketing, Sales, Access, Medical and/or Ops)
  • Experience in direct team leadership as well as complex matrix team leadership 
  • In-depth experience in US, other key markets and/or WW Commercialization desired 
  • Experience in Cardiovascular and partnering with Global Drug Development/Research & Early Development preferred
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills: effectively structures business problems; leverages data to identify insights and inform recommendations; leverages key matrix partners
  • Demonstrated success in mobilizing cross-functional matrix teams to drive optimal business results
  • Ability to prioritize work with autonomy, balance multiple major strategic initiatives simultaneously and drive results with speed
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including an ability to interact and communicate to senior level executives.
  • BA/BS required. Advanced degree strongly preferred
