Key Role Accountabilities: :

Country:   Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines,

Reports To:     Vice President, China & Asia Cluster

Strategy & Execution:

  • Assumes full P&L responsibility
  • Oversees all commercial functions and leads through partnership with global/corporate functions including but not limited to: regulatory, medical, HR, finance, legal, compliance, corporate affairs, and clinical operations.
  • Leads the development and execution of customer-focused strategy to drive superior short-term and long-term market performance through effective investment, innovation, resource allocation and prioritization.
  • Oversees strategic decision making and adaptation where necessary to maximize opportunities for growth and in line with the changing external landscape.

Leadership & Matrix Alignment:

  • Demonstrates the business ethics and judgment to enforce internal controls in line with the company’s policies and procedures and maintains the compliance.
  • Builds and develops strong cross-functional teams with a cohesive and collaborative culture that embraces diversity and drives employee engagement across all functions.
  • Role-models the Mission, Vision, BMS Values, and People Strategy.
  • Builds and manages a high-performance team with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement to enable scalability to overcome challenges.
  • Seizes opportunities to enhance the organization’s Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and public image and serve as an executive and representative of BMS.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:

  • Builds and manages relationships with internal stakeholders in local, Asia Cluster, Intercon and Worldwide (WW) commercial and matrix teams.
  • Leads the organization to help efficiently navigate complex decision-making and play an active role in the BMS community.
  • Manages integration points and outbound/inbound communications with key stakeholders across all BMS enabling function/commercial areas to ensure alignment.
  • Actively contributes to shaping the industry, external environment and building key relationship in all relevant areas.

Hematology/Oncology/Immunology/Cardiovascular expertise

  • Ability to stay up to date with the science/ strategy
  • Creation of detailed business plans
  • Launch excellence
  • Drive execution of WW commercial strategy
  • External focus/ customer centricity
  • P&L management, resource allocation, life cycle flexing

Market Access:

  • Shape the environment and policy framework
  • Establish relationships with external stakeholders
  • Engage with WW Access and Pricing
  • Build strong business cases to support access negotiations
  • Successfully negotiate with payers

Requirements:

  • BA/BS with MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of pharmaceutical/healthcare experience, with 5+ years of general management experience and/or Business Unit Lead experience in a medium to large market
  • Successful / strong track record of performance
  • Ability to set and implement the strategy related to managing a successful business
  • Successful track record of driving growth, managing a team with P&L responsibilities, demonstrating tangible and significant business impact
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, and strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills in a highly matrix environment
  • Ability to manage a team successfully (direct and indirect reports), by applying the right level of management focus and support and ensuring commitment and engagement. Experience and track record of coaching individuals as well as leading teams
  • Ability to formulate and communicate strategic thinking in a highly complex environment
  • Proven success of change and innovation management combined with the right sense of priority, focus and results
  • Excellent leadership skills; with a strong ability to build, motivate and develop a strongly competent and diverse team
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills; with the ability to influence and persuade the full set of internal and external

stakeholders towards achieving target outcomes

  • Execution Skills: Demonstrated success in driving execution of key priorities and plans through a global matrix organization by establishing expectations for work and contingency plans and metrics, setting high standards and holding team members accountable for results, behaviors, and continuous improvement.
  • Compliance: Set the tone at the top; keep up to date with BMS policies and processes; lead local compliance committee; identify potential compliance pain points and drive resolution/ control framework, and optimally balance risk & reward
