David Elkins
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
David Elkins is the executive vice president and chief financial officer of Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS), a global biopharmaceutical company whose mission is to discover, develop and deliver innovative medicines that help patients prevail over serious diseases. In this role, David is responsible for the company’s Global Business Operations organization, which consists of Corporate Strategy, Business Development, Operational Excellence, Procurement, Investor Relations and Finance Functions.

David joined BMS as a result of the acquisition of Celgene, where he was executive vice president and chief financial officer. David joined Celgene in 2018 after several years at Johnson & Johnson (J&J), where he served as chief financial officer for the company’s Consumer Products and Medical Device businesses, as well as Corporate Functions. Prior to J&J, he served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Becton, Dickinson and Company, a leading global medical device company, and held roles of increasing responsibility at AstraZeneca from 1995 to 2008. He began his career in finance at The Boeing Company.
David also serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Tapestry, Inc., a house of iconic accessories and lifestyle brands consisting of Coach, Kate Spade New York and Stuart Weitzman.
David earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware, an M.S. from the University of Pennsylvania, and an M.B.A. from Drexel University.
